Here's the difference between movies made for a British audience and an American one: The money men think Americans have to have the sensational movie title--and maybe they do, what do I know? The British title of this movie is the book title--The Last Page. In America, it became Man Bait. Har! What a difference.
Another comment: Damn! That was the most happening bookstore I've seen in a while! Spying, blackmail, murder. . . all in the stacks!

I have to admit - somewhat ashamedly, but what can I say - that the title Man Bait really grabbed my attention when I saw it listed on the TCM schedule. Plus it featured Diana Dors, who at the time was hailed as the "British Marilyn Monroe". So naturally I just had to record it and watch it. I might have given it a pass had it been listed as The Last Page.
I'm glad I watched it. It was a fun, cleverly-scripted little crime story, with a few unexpected twists and turns. You're absolutely correct in noting that that was one busy little book store... today's on-line book shopping just isn't the same!
