Wes was a Jerk to Louise

Louise seems relieved that Wes is willing to quit the rodeo and go home with her at the end, but I'd had about enough of his behavior towards her. He's hardly a good husband, he does what he wants the entire film without a thought about Louise and what she wants. He doesn't involve her in his decision to start rodeoing, to buy the camper, to move into bullriding, etc. Then he just gets drunk constantly and openly cheats on her with a rodeo groupie.

Wes is no prize. Hayward could do better, even if it's not Mitchum.
