This film deserves to be an 8.5 at the very least.

Same here! I saw it a couple days ago. I found it to be a beautiful, moving film on what it means to be an artist in any year and the beginnings and endings of not just any artistic path in general - but life as well. I loved how Charlie Chaplin continued to reach out to his fans and the general public even years after his silent film reign. This movie shows he still had it in him.

When I was watching it, I actually considered giving it an 8 or a 9 but ultimately gave it a 10 when I was won over by the ending and Claire Bloom's terrific performance. She reminded me of a young Vivien Leigh.
