High Fall From Castle

Paddy Ryan, Ivanhoe: I saw this movie as a child, and it was enthralling. One of my favorites when it came to the big mounted "epic". This is when I started to realize that the classics could be cool. Although there are a lot of stunts in this film, there's one that stands out for me and that is Paddy Ryan's fall from the castle. This was reported to be the highest fall from a castle when he performed the stunt.

I will second that... hehe. That was one heck of a stunt fall with a fairly unprotected (exposed) landing (like not landing behind some hail bails into an air bag or cardboard boxes).

BTW, I just saw Ivanhoe for the first time recently. Don't ask me how I missed this classic for so long. It's exactly the type of movie that I would have LOVED as a kid. High adventure, melodrama, bigger than life heroes. I am far more discerning now, but I enjoyed it and did notice that great stunt.

Absolutely a fantastic fall in a classic motion picture. That castle siege is long and involved!
