' Wamba'

I have tried to watch this movie a few times on TV trying to see that remarkable man Emlyn Williams.

But I get so irritated by the tedious Robert Taylor —or perhaps I'm watching an edited print— that I miss Emlyn Williams altogether.

Perhaps the role of Wamba —the jester to the hero's father— is such an insignificant one that I miss him altogether.

That poor flaming Wamba scream was anything but in jest! Yes, it is the same scream a couple shots later when a man-at-arms falls through a fiery floor fighting Sir Wilfred.

The first scream was from Wamba being forced into the flames. Unseen by the camera, he falls of a ledge to the floor below.

The second scream was when the man-at-arms falls on top of Wamba.
