Great Movie.. with the legendary character Jim Bowie, and the legendary
knife, and how it came to be.

Tales of how Jim Bowie came to become the legend; and how not to fall
for the wrong women.

If only he had listen to his brother/s and family about his love. Alan
Ladd was excellent in this, as was Virgina Mayo....and he rest of the
cast.Great movie. It really is.

Is this released as a DVD yet? Please can someone tell me...????
I would love to get this film on Dvd

Maybe even this film could be remade for a new generation with even more detail given to how the knife was made etc, etc

But who would star????

I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A LONG TIME TO GET THIS MOVIE FOR MY FATHER,HE IS NOW 81 YEARS OLD AND HE REALLY WANTS IT! I WOULD TAKE A VHS IF I COULD FIND IT. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN FIND ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I had a DVD made of this movie through the services of a company in Los Angeles called " MovieHunter" about 1 yr ago. It cost about $45 or so, as I recall.

While the DVD transfer is not as perfect as commercially made movies----it is worth the price as far as I'm concerned. I don't think this movie will ever be released officially.

I saw this movie donkies years ago, and if memory serves me correctly the knife was made by a blacksmith from a meteorite, that's what made it so strong.
But like I said, it's been a long time ago.

I love the scene of where the blacksmith sends nearly all week on making the knife. Or was it longer than that?

I have sent you an e-mail as well.

But I would love to get films like this ready so that I can watch them over the christmas period.

Its a truley great film.....
