Those evil...

Russian Commies from 'Invasion U.S.A.'(1952)! Not only do they not speak any Russian, they speak English with bad Russian accents! The only version I've seen so far is MST3K version. Man, talk about politically-incorrect right wing propaganda! There's a Russian soldier in the film who looks like Mr. French and he declares, "He's dead! Now, you my woman!"

-Nyet means nyet!

-When I was a kid, there was a Russian guitar player who appeared at an assembly at my middle school. He told us that he liked eating pancakes topped with caviar! Some kids, in an intolerant and immature fashion, yelled, "EEEEWWWW!" Oh, well. That dish sounds tempting right now! That's good eating!

How about those evil foreign window washers?

Gotta look out for them!

What a puny plan!

Bad as it is, I bet there would be less snide remarks about it if it was an anti-Nazi film.

And the Red Army did behave abysmaly in the lands it occupied. Rape on a massive scale, among other things. That may be what the 'You my woman!' thing is about.

In the plus column, Invasion U.S.A. has decent acting, a kick ace score by Albert Glasser, and Lois Lanes Phyllis Coates and Noel Neill from TV's Adventures of Superman.

Coates is the yang(tough, assertive) and Neill is the yin(sweet and polite).

The Chuck Norris film was probably inspired by this 1952 film.

Dan O' Herily plays a fortune teller in the film and he also appeared as "The Old Man" in Robocop.

It's like Red Dawn...avenge me, avenge me!

except it wasn't even russian accents, it was more like a mix of Italian and Polish accents. I like how they made sure that all the collaborators are filthy Italian polack labor lovers, so you know that foreigners can't be trusted in an invasion and will desert to the People's Army.

Also the parts that imply that the government should levy much larger taxes, institute a universal draft and nationalize all industries for military capacity, and that individualism is bad and collectivism is good. Hmm, sounds familiar doesn't it?

I can't even tell what side this movie is supposed to take. Even the ''Russians'' in their mangled Italian accents offer whiskey to the vanquished.
