This movie teaches so many values and explores so many themes, all through the lens of a different culture, and a different time period. I feel if more people watched movies like this, the world would be a better place. Instead, everyone is looking forward to the next Avengers movie. They just want to be entertained, not develop themselves.

Not at all - but here we are on a board for a Kurosawa film, so obviously we're interested in his work. As are you, presumably, or you wouldn't be here.

Yes, but I can't help but feel that people like the OP, who believe that mainstream audiences are beneath them, are just looking for attention. I think people should watch that which interests them or what they enjoy, be it Japanese social realist dramas or American superhero blockbusters. No need to impose one's taste over others.
