Margaret's boots

Did they bother you? They did me a little.

reply

Lol, yes they were very unbecoming, they looked a bit like slippers with the fur trim.

"Made it, Ma! Top of the world!"

I'm watching it now, they're really clompy

This movie is on TV in December every year and I've watched it a few times now. I always look forward to seeing Margaret's clodhoppers every time, haha.

When we first see her wearing them she's in deep snow outside the house so I thought that they were those wellie things you wear over your shoes!

I hadn't seen the film before, only on stage. Its lovely, so moving - I'm going to add it to my regular Christmas films: Its a Wonderful Life, The Shop Around the Corner etc

I didn't know it had been a stage play but then I don't live in the UK. Yes it is a moving story which is why I've watched it several times now. I don't think I've ever seen Sir Ralph or Denholm Elliott in a bad film.

Whenever I see Margaret in this movie the following phrase come to mind—
