This wonderful movie still isn't out on DVD, but it will be on Turner Classic Movies soon -- on Monday, Nov. 2nd, at 4 a.m.

And was I glad to finally record it. I grew up in a French-Canadian atmosphere and a lot of the mannerisms and remarks (Mon Dieu!) brought back memories. No one is off-note in this charming little tale.

I recorded it last time it was on, some months ago. I wish it would come out on DVD, but I don't think it ever came out on video, either. When I first saw the film, it was years before we had VCRs; but the memory of this delightful story stayed with me and I always wanted to see it again.
