Could be a great Broadway musical

If Disney can make Broadway shows out of "Mary Poppin"s, "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" why couldn't this be a broadway hit? In my opinion the songs are better than the Disney properties...

I'm Hans Christian Anderson
Anywhere I Wander
Wonderful Copenhagen
Thumbelina
Inch Worm
Ugly Duckling
Emporer's New Clothes
No Two People Have Ever Been so in Love

The movie was all done on sound stages, just sets. Keep the music and tweak the story a bit for modern tastes and presto... a big hit.

Now who to cast, any ideas?

That is a WONDERFUL idea! But, I doubt there is anyone who could compare to Danny Kaye. For me, he *is* Hans Christian Andersen.

Its only a matter of time before someone adapts it!

Its that man again!!

There was a wonderful stage musical in the 1970s which was staged at the London palladium. It used the songs from the film, but ditched the silly plot in favour of a plot based on the real story of hans andersen. Tommy steele played Hans andersen. I would be delighted if tjis musical was revived.
