blood squib
Early on, when Lee Marvin shoots a man in the back, you "see" the bullet strike, and a red splotch appear, in real time.
This has to be one of the earliest examples of using a squib to create a visible gunshot wound. Anybody know if it was the first? Or did it first occur in some other film?
"Common sense" suggests it would have had to have been a color film, as it would not have particularly visible in B&W film.
