I love it. It's great entertainment. Sure, it's hammy & corny. But, the girls especially...to them it is a labor of love. Grahame, Hutton, Lamour---they're striving for excellence here, to make this film something that will be talked about 66 years later (today). Sometimes I tear up watching them work, how they sacrifice themselves and their character for the goodness of the production. They-will-not-fail. Perhaps DeMille asked this of them. But, I doubt it. They just knew. He did not have to ask.

There is much materiel in the numerous fade outs of scenes. One must watch each & every frame of this motion picture. Nothing must be missed.

SHOWN in file footage:::The 100's of volunteers that would work each day to erect the Circus in order for all to enjoy it. All they received was a (ticket). But, that's all they wanted. They didn't want to rob the Circus. They volunteered so that the next city would be served.

I love the opening in the real Ringling's office where they're discussing commerce, profit & loss. It's heartrending now---even then the point of it was the Circus was on the tipping point. But, they did the full schedule and adventure begins. We have over 2 hours ahead of us each time we press the PLAY button.

You damnable, MF, you. You got the old Cubby sittin' here eyes welling.

Take it, you big beautiful, MF, you. A rare Monday Direct Hit.
