A girl in every port?

Who names these movies? Based on the plot of the movie, you'd think the title would have something to do with horses or racing or twins or dozens of other things. Instead, they go with the sailor angle, although there is only one girl and one port in the film. Who names these movies? I don't know, but it's surely the same fool who named Double Dynamite as well (which is a pun that has nothing to do with the plot of that movie and is also misleading because I've never seen an actress' famous double dynamite covered completely as much as I did in Double Dynamite).

That's just how some comedies were back then. The titles would sometimes have nothing to do with the plot.

This is a good example of a typical business come on (or con job), not limited to the film industry. These sort of deceptive sales/marketing tactics have been around since time immemorial, and continue to this day.

Take a look at the film's promotional poster. From that, the prospective movie goer might unwittingly believe the film is loaded with scantily clad women.

Personally, I find this more amusing than bothersome. I rarely, if ever have seen a movie without knowing a good deal about it beforehand through reviews, etc. Of course in the Internet era it's easier than ever to make informed choices.

The title notwithstanding, this film is worth a look (or two) for the performances alone.
