Coming to DVD on Fox's new MOD line, June 2012

Diplomatic Courier is among the very first titles (more soon to come) being issued on 20th Century Fox's brand new MOD line, Fox Cinema Archives (FCA).

The line was just announced yesterday (June 1, 2012), and the first titles are expected later this month. DC is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. It's not clear as yet whether, or which, other outlets might also carry these FCA films. Retail price appears to be $19.99. Fox's stated goal is to issue around 150 titles per year in this series.

Fox's decision to finally join Warner Bros., MGM (UA) and Columbia in making its vast library of (mostly) unreleased films available on DVD-R is overdue and welcome. (I say "mostly" because among the first reported releases are two films previously issued on standard DVD as parts of sets. Both Warner Archive and Columbia Classics have done similar things, releasing DVD titles that are out of print, or unavailable individually, on their MOD lines.)

Further information will be posted as it becomes available.
