I agree with richard-brisson, Burt Lancaster really didn't make any duds, but if I had to pick my favorite 5:

The Train
Go Tell the Spartans
The Killers
The Professionals
Local Hero

Just saw the last hour of The Crimson Pirate on TCM and it was awesome. It really shows what a fantastic athlete and gymnast he was.
Don't want to include it on my list though since I haven't seen the whole thing.

5). Gunfight at the OK Corral

6). Trapeze

9). Judgment at Nuremberg

10). Seven Days in May

11). The Scalphunters......funny and very entertaining.

The Train makes my personal list of the top-ten films of all-time. Just loved this movie and Burt's role as well as Paul Scofield's portrayal as the German commander's incessant intention to take the paintings back to Germany at all costs, irrespective of the war effort. A solid 10 rating for this movie and an Oscar for Burt, tho' he wasn't nominated for such, nor was the film, astonishingly.
