They were not Teddy Boys! Teds wore drape jackets & brothel creepers although they did also carry cut-throat razors like Walshy.

Have a look at old photos of Teds on the net. Not all could afford drapes and creepers. They wore what they could get.

That's just how boys dressed in those days. Teenagers didn't dress casually in the Uk until the 60s. A suit and tie wasn't 'smart' or 'respectable' clothing in the 50s, it was just everyday wear. Working class men generally only had two sets of clothing; their working clothes and then a suit to wear for leisure time.
