Just finished watching that tremendous film and noticed that the scene showing George living in a 'chicken wire' flophouse was included in the TCM showing. It was gruesome, but can't imagine why they would cut that out. It grieves me to know that these self righteous, ultra Christian censors think that they know what is better for the public. It happened in 1952, and it is happening right now here as well. bullies are bullies, 1952 and 2009....the same.
