And today we have legitimate Off Track Betting and gambling casinos in 35 states providing over 300,000 jobs. This creates billions of dollars in tax revenue that bankrolls our public services. What a wasted message this movie sends. Prohibition of “vices” that the public doesn’t see as a threat, is a useless venture. The Reverend Nash laid it out clearly when he told the other town clergy that in order to stop the gambling, they’d have to take on their own congregations, not the mob.

What you are really stating is that you would prefer the State, Native American Indians and large corporations to control the gambling as opposed to the mob. Any intelligent individual realizes that prohibition solves nothing but to create more crimes and criminals.

This film viewer has gambled in all four types of gambling enterprises mentioned above. As far as the Native Americans are concerned, this individual views this type of gambling as the red man's revenge of the genocide committed against them by our forefathers. However, the mob always gave the suckers a chance to leave town with more dough than when entering.
