Same plot: look alike cousin of the injured King is required to stand in for him while he recovers, and in the meantime falls in love with the princess to whom the King is betrothed. Anthony Quinn plays the villainous cousin who covets the throne. Lots of derring do, swordplay (especially up and down castle staircases) sliding down convenient ropes, shirts that open to show manly chests during swordplay, and gorgeous sets and costumes. An enjoyable feast by a log fire on a winter's night.

Exactly. This movie is "The Prisoner of Zenda" with a 'happy ending'.

(I won't say just what the happy ending...or more precisely, the Hollywood ending...is so as not to spoil it for first time viewers.)

As you say, an enjoyable feast by a log fire on a winter's night....and I would add a wee dram of single malt Scotch.
