On R1 DVD 5/27/08 -- finally

THE SOUND BARRIER is at long last being released by Lions Gate in a three-disc, four-film set, The World War Collection, on May 27, 2008. MSRP $29.99. Titles are not available separately. Very difficult to pin down information as yet, but the three other films, all British, will be KING AND COUNTRY, ANGELS ONE FIVE and THE CAPTIVE HEART.

THE SOUND BARRIER is hardly a "world war" picture but at least it'll be available -- it's way overdue. And the other films in the set are pretty good as well.

The World War Collection is indeed a great pack. Highly recommended. I did enjoy the 4 films, in particular King & Country and of course The Sound Barrier. (although as you have pointed out "The Sound Barrier" hardly could be considered a "War" film).

I got it for about 20 bucks in amazon. I think right now it's a bit more expensive, but still worthy of a purchase.
