SPOILER ALERT...How does this movie end?

Can anyone describe the ending of this movie to me? There's a poster on another board who has some of us pondering what Jimmy Stewart movie ends with him wounded and departing the scene in some sort of boat. OP wasn't sure if it was Jimmy Stewart or Stewart Granger, and didn't remember for sure that it was a western. I wondered if it could be this flick the OP is trying to remember.

OK, so I posted this message and then I had to go to the local Wal-Mart and lo and behold in the $5.00 bin is this movie. I just finished watching it and it isn't the movie I was looking for but I remember seeing it before.

In the end of the movie we find out that some bad men never change and some thought to be bad men often do. Jimmy's character rides off in a wagon with the female lead presumably to live happily ever after.
