This is a remake of 'Canyon Passage' (1946) with Dana Andrews

Somebody who likes Dana Andrews very much and lives in Oregon recommended that I watch "Canyon Passage" (1946, with Dana Andrews, Susan Hayward, Brian Donlevy and Ward Bond).
From the beginning on it reminded me very much of "Bend of the River", one of my favorite westerns of all times.
Did anybody else notice the many parallels between both westerns?
It's not listed in "movie connections" though.
