Missing scene from end

I am hoping there is a serious movie buff out there that can help me. Being a "Baby Boomer" I saw this movie for the first time decades ago (60's). I remember a scene where the Mother who is now on a speaking circuit goes to a prestigious club to give a speech her husband had been invited to do but their did not let her in because women were not allowed. A little kid was there and somehow it turned out he was her husband's son from another very large family he had. The movie/scene can't remember ends with her sitting at the table meeting all the other kids who mom had died. I can't recall if it was this one or the original Cheaper by the Dozen", but its driving me insane. Can anyone help?

There is a scene in Belles on Their Toes where Lillian Gilbreth (Myrna Loy) is invited to speak at the Engineers' Club of America, but is turned away at the door because she is a woman. The character uses her initials instead of her full name and was presumed to be a man.

HOWEVER, there is nothing in either film about her husband having a second family.
