Lana Turner

Lana Turner was superb in this film and was top billed over legends like Walter Pidgeon and stars like Kirk Douglas. Amazing performance. Lana in interviews always claimed it was she not Vincente Minnelli who directed the famous car scene. "Minnelli didn't have a clue on how to stage that scene" per Lana!

Lana gave in my opinion 5 performances worthy of a Nomination

The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Bad And The Beautiful
Peyton Place
Imitation of Life
Madame X

Lana was nominated for Peyton Place, but gave her greatest peformance in Madame x where she was robbed of a nom if not the Oscar itself

The lovely Lana may have been top-billed, but the sexiest lady on the screen was Elaine Stewart.

Elaine Srewart was hot, but, no, she's no Lana.

I think she gives a more natural performance in Peyton Place and Imitation Of Life than Madame X.

Lana was amazing in this role. I will never forget her scene with Kirk Douglas when she finds him with the other actress from the movie. Holy s**t! That was a shocking scene, especially since this movie was made in the 1950's. I thought it was very modern. Her reaction was so well acted. One could see every bit of the pain in her face.

Ha ha ha! I felt the same way. I think we both have the same taste! Plus I think we may have lost some steam as far as gathering new posters to the site. Maybe it's because they're all over the place now, posting on each individual movie (I hope). I watch at least five movies a week, so I thought I'll post on on all of them, even if I don't have anything interesting to say because I want this site to do well.

I'm not a big Lana Turner fan either but they gave her some great movies to be in. I love the Douglas Sirk movies and that ilk. They were juicy roles. She was a beauty.
