Collector's Edition = Best Version

The Collector's Edition of the film is the best version considering it is Re-Mastered in Dolby Digital sound and has about 1 minute longer runtime. The Alraune version by Kinowelt has Mono sound only.

The Kinowelt edition also contains a fascinating documentary about the actress Knef/Neff
("Hildegard Knef - Die frühen Jahre") and a short interview with Karlheinz Böhm:

I was surprised to hear that Erich von Stroheim had such a strong American accent when speaking German -
sometimes he did not even sound like a native speaker to me!
But then I reminded myself that he had been living in the States since 1909,
that is a very long time!
