This movie has recently been released on Bluray in Sweden. It is described as 1.78:1 aspect ratio, which is mid-widescreen. I am suspicious about this, since as far as I know it was never filmed in mid-widescreen, but instead was presented in 4:3, or standard TV shaped picture.
I would love to have this on bluray, but not if they've cropped off the bottom and top to make it widescreen!!
The Swedish Blu-ray is definitely in the correct aspect ratio.

It has also been released on BD in Germany, as Gegen alle Flaggen.
Yep, the german blu-ray release clearly offers the correct aspect ratio (1:1.37), so you get black bars to the left and to the right. Picture quality is stunning. Probably the best Technicolor re-release I have seen so far.
