Something you'd never see today

Osgood Conklin, preparing to go hunting, bringing a doubled-barreled shotgun into the cafeteria.

Actually, Walter brought it into the cafeteria after Mr. Conklin traded it to him. Miss Brooks and Mr. Boynton didn't even raise an eyebrow.

In the suppressed final episode, Walter Denton comes back to the cafeteria, wearing a black baseball cap, shades and a black trench coat. Angry at everyone making fun of his way of talking, Walter pulls a shotgun (not a double-barreled one but a semi-automatic one) and opens fire, killing everyone in the cafeteria until he blows his own head off.

In the final scene we see Connie and Conklin reading about it in the newspapers and congratulating theemlves on transferring to a different school before Denton lost it and went homicidal.

Are you sure that wasn't Steve Urkel?

reply

Is transferring from school harder today. During my grammar school years in the late 70's, mom transferred me when a teacher mistreated me. I don't understand why parents allow their kids to stay at school, they are constantly harassed at. Of course, back then my homies defended me against the bullies, or I just ignored their stupid comments.
