Alexandra, Mindy, and Vanessa

I just realized all 3 society gals were raised by their widowed fathers, personally I think Alex was the classiest of the 3, Vanessa was bit of a wild child in her younger days, and Mindy was borderline trashy at times. Did any of them ever mention what their moms died from? They all lost their mothers early in life. Alex was the only one who had a distant relationship with her dad.

Vanessa, I'm not so sure. Mindy, all I know is her mom died when she was about 6. Alex, I think I either heard it mentioned in an episode or read it in a synopsis, but I think here mom died giving birth to Alan.

I thought Alex was younger?

I actually thought she was older, but then again I could be wrong.

Penelope Spaulding might have died in a mental institution; She shot and killed the brother of Brandon's black mistress, Sharina Tamberlain. This was dealt with in the 1984 storyline of the Reardon cottage that Susan Piper was using to blackmail the supposedly dead Brandon.

I watched those Barbados episodes recently on youtube, and Alex is actually 4 years older than Alan. Brandon had said Alex was 4 years old during the incident where Penelope shoots Sharina's brother Conrad. Penelope was pregnant with Alan at the time, and this upset her so much that it caused her to go into early labor. She gave birth to Alan and soon died after his birth.

Wow I was a kid then and don't recall all of the drama regarding Brandon's mistress. Thanks for the info. I will have to catch the episodes on YT sometime.

Be sure to find the scene where Fletcher and Claire are in the swimming pool in the Tamberlaine manion and make love to the Whitney Houston and Teddy Pendergrass song "Hold Me". I think it is one of the hottest, most romantic scenes I've ever seen on a soap. Unfortunately, they turned Claire into a shrew after this, but at the time, they were a rival to Josh and Reva. I would have loved to have seen a Claire/Fletcher/Alexandra triangle!

I was in school then, but I recall when Fletcher had a flashback of him and Claire being romantic. If I recall, Claire really fell for him, but got pregnant by Ed and Fletcher ended everything. I recall when Claire had the emotional breakdown. I think it stemmed from her abusive childhood. I also remember she almost ruined Rick's medical career by unfairly giving him a bad grade on his exam.
