Fans were Tweeting Away on Superman on Earth on #metvsuperman

ME TV Showed the 1st 2 episodes of Superman this evening and so many fans were tweeting their comments during the shows like crazy, Some twitter said Superman's mother was hotter than the Krypton Sun!

reply

That's Aline Towne, who spent most of her career guesting on TV series. (She appeared six times on Wagon Train.)

By the way, Krypton's sun is Sol. At that time, Krypton was still considered to have existed in our solar system.

The man Superman saves is Dabbs Greer, who even in 1951 was a successful character actor. It's amazing his agent didn't insist on a cast credit.

reply

Per the comics, Krypton had another color sun which accounted for Kryptonians gaining other powers when exposed to our Yellow sun.

Superman's powers gained from Earth's lighter gravity and yellow sun. Many storylines use these themes over the years.

did kryton experience climate change? also, wouldnt the love for a child be reason enough for his mother to go in the space ship with him? the dad said she would fit.

reply

The meeting of the High Council is eerily prescient. Climate-change deniers should be strapped into chairs with their eyelids forcibly held open, and be made to watch it at least a dozen time.

As long as we're talking about scientific errors... If Krypton is being drawn closer to the Sun... Why isn't the Earth?

reply

I'm always distracted when watching the Kryptonian Council scene by the guy wearing Tom Tyler's old Captain Marvel costume, from the 1941 serial...!

reply

You use what you can dig up! Queen of Outer Space recycles the Forbidden Planet costumes.

I believe the Council member's names came from the comic books. Of course, Rozan doesn't look anything like Roseanne Barr.
