Random thoughts about the series

When Dave and June got married, their apartment was very modest and about what you'd expect young newlyweds just starting out to have. Whereas Rick and Kris lived in a very expensively furnished house.

Everyone should have been quite overweight with all the milkshakes and sodas consumed at the Malt Shop.

Why did the boys share a room growing up? A house that size would have four bedrooms at least.

I always thought that Ricky and Kris having the house was unrealistic. It seemed strange that David was working and he and June were in an apartment but you see Ricky and Kris in the house and both were students. Doesn't make sense that June and Daviid started out in an apartment like most newlyweds yet the students had a very nice house.

Yep, they consumed a lot of burgers, fries and shakes after school, then went home to Harriet's dinner. I guess people didn't gain weight back then (on tv) except for poor Wally. That's the magic of tv.

Leave it to Beaver had the boys share a room too and I suppose it was for storyline purposes, but I think Wally and the Beav were shown in their room more than David and Ricky. I also noticed that most houses back then only had 3 bedrooms so it seems the family wanted a spare room so they doubled up the kids.

Yes, I found the residential inequity between the two boys interesting also.

Although it wasn't explained, maybe they wanted the living arrangements for Kris Nelson to be more in line with her real life experience and expectations. She did seem much more spoiled and pampered to me than June was by the way.

She is in real life of course, part of the famous Harmon family including her famous father (Tom), and famous brother (Mark).

Her father was a football star, and post-career, was very successful in the sports broadcasting industry, owning his own company.

So it would not be much of a stretch for me at all to see him wanting to spoil his daughter by helping with her living arrangements. So maybe that concept was just adapted into the storyline.
