Ozzie and Harriet_TV Land?

One of the reviews said Ozzie and Harriet aired on TV Land. Is this true? If so, when? What years?

I agree. Granted Rosanne has it's place, but I'm with you on this.

I'm not sure about TV Land. TV Land was known to run marathons on Saturdays and Sundays a few years back; it could have popped up then. I believe it was on Nick at Nick when Nick At Night first started. I also understand it was on TBS back in the 80's It's now being shown on "Familyland" a Catholic TV Channel back in Ohio; this station is being offered on "Sky Angel" a christian satellite network. It airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays at 7:00 PM.

I'm in Canada visiting relatives and I saw 2 back to back episodes of Ozzie & Harriet on Saturday morning. One I had seen before and the second one was new (to me at least) it involves Kris and Harriet having their pictures taken. Kris wants Rick to have her picture on his desk at work and Harriet wants to take a more recent picture of herself for Ozzie. Well, to make a long story short, Wally loans Rick a picture frame with a scantly clad young lady in back of the frame behind Wally's girlfriend Ginger photo. Rick notices it when he gives Wally the picture of Ginger out of the frame. So Rick accidentally leaves the frame with the pin up picture with a Judge when he drops off papers at the Judge's office. And the picture gets mixed up with Kris and Harriet's photo as well. In one scene Rick and David decide to burn the photo of the pin up girl and accidentally burn Kris's picture instead. So Rick has to go back to the photographer for another print. At the end of the episode, Ozzie comes on the screen and shows the picture burning scene again. Ozzie says that there was an earlier recording that didn't go as planned. The crew shooting the scene wasn't sure if the photo paper would burn well enough. So they added lighter fluid to the waste paper basket that Rick drops the photo in. Then Ozzie shows this scene. Rick lights the photo amd drops it in the can and a huge flame shoots out of the can with a small explosion causing Rick and Dave to jump back. It was so funny seeing their reaction. It might be one of the first blooper scenes shown on TV. I have never seen this episode before so I'm not sure of the name of it.
Anyway, I was watching KVOS TV in Vancouver, BC. It was on at 2:00 AM. I'm going to check it out next Saturday morning to see if they air more shows next week

No it hasn't. However back in December on the Larry King Live Show, When asked if Ozzie and Harrite was Airing on TVland or Not. Gunnar Nelson said not yet but we are talking about it. So, I'd say keep your Fingers crossed and until then get you a couple of VHS or DVD's off of Ebay.

I don't guess righting tvland could hurt either.

TV Land was OK back when they started; now their idea of classic TV is just the same old crap everyone has seen a million times. Unfortunately, Ozzie & Harriett will never make it to TV Land; the only black and white shows they broadcast are the ones everybody knows by heart, like I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith and Dick Van Dyke...and they show them over and over and over. The only shows they add are stuff from the 80s...they never go backward.

I used to watch Tv Land and Nick at Night all of the time. I like the shows from the sixties. Now days all they seem to have is newer stuff. I loved My 3 Sons and taped most of the episodes thankfully.

Today’s TV viewer is pretty savvy and TV Land has not changed with the times. They need to be airing obscure shows, early dramas, specials & short-lived series, things like Playhouse 90, Ozzie’s Girls, The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, My World & Welcome To It, ABC’s Stage 67, etc. etc. etc. EBay and video trading groups are thriving because people want what they haven’t seen before. TV Land just doesn’t get it.

i think when the nelson twins get hold of the business end of the o and h world, the deals will really begin, including TV Land. i really think david nelson is just enjoying life without so much of the bother of the business end of things and the younger nelsons will push the ozzie and harriet world a bit more than he has. i hope anyway.

If TV Land wanted to air Ozzie & Harriet, they'd be doing it. They could get them for cheap, since there aren't a lot of other outlets. TV Land is owned by Paramount, and they don't even air a lot of shows they could which they own outright, like "Perry Mason", "My Three Sons", "The Lucy Show", "Petticoat Junction" and "Family Affair". Why would they pay for a lesser-known show like "Ozzie & Harriet" with a whopping 435 episodes? It will never happen. All of these shows are lost from the airwaves forever.

Actually, it is possible for TV stations to make deals in which the stations only buy the rights to air specific episodes, rather than all of them. TV Land or any other station could definitely do that with O&H.

However, even if they did, that would still be horrible, because TV Land speeds up the framerate playback & also the audio track of the shows it airs, and in addition to that, it also butchers them to bits by cutting out many scenes.
