The Fraternity Plots Wore Thin

I wonder if the show had went on for a few more seasons if Ozzie would still have continued milk that fraternity crap ? Wally was nearly 40 freakin years old and looked 50 by 1966 and Rick was 26, how long did he expect to keep them in college ? Then again, when he did Ozzie's Girls in 1973-74, the girls were in college and their friends would come over to the house. Same old plot lines/hijinx.

I actually enjoy the Ozzie & Harriet centered episodes about them with the neighbors a bit more.

I haven't seen enough of this series to have any idea of what you are talking about. Most of the episodes I've seen were Ozzie-centric and they were usually good.

In fact, I don't even know why they put "Harriet" in this show's title. In all the episodes I've seen, Harriet is just a tertiary side character. The show's title makes it sound like Harriet has equal importance to the show as does Ozzie, but that does not seem to be the case at all. From the episodes I've seen, they could have deleted the Harriet character out of the show and it barely would have made any difference to any of the scripts.

When the boys became of college age, Ozzie introduced the fraternity house and guys. He continued to weave them into plots till the end of the series. David did graduate and become a lawyer, but he kept Ricky and Wally in school way beyond it making any sense. Skip Young who played Wally was nearly 40 at series end and he looked older than that.

I think Ozzie used the fraternity for most of the series.

That's a shame. Ozzie must have ran out of ideas.
