loved the movies, never got into the tv show

needless to say I'm in the minority here with a imdb rating of 8.5 I dont know exactly what it is but I've seen all the movies over and over again, the tv show just seems like re-hashes of movie segments.

I believe that was the case for Season 1 - a lot of rehashed material used for those plots/storylines.

But I think Season 2 was new stuff.

I agree that they use a lot of old routines in Season 1, but the pacing is so much better than in a lot of the movies and I'm always amazed to see subtle gags which I didn't catch as a kid. Like in the courtroom scene in the TV show episode. First, you have the buildup with the guy slipping on the gum on the sidewalk, which if you watch carefully, his foot never touches, they his complaint about getting a broken leg, although he's up and walking, and Mr. FIelds getting arrested (which of course is ridiculous in a civil case).

THen the courtroom itself, with FIelds blowing smoke in the judge's face, the girls leg crossing routine, Rednose's surreptitious drinking, etc.

In 10 minutes of TV, you've got about 80-100 gags. Where in any of their films do you get that?

Agree with the first post. A few of the movies were classic comedy. Like "A&C meet Frankenstein."
