A&C channel Beckett

I was watching the meatball scene in Hunger the other day and this exchange absolutely floored me. I probably heard it many times as a kid without truly appreciating it.

Bachakalup spouts Italian.

C; Did you understand that?
A: Yes.
C: Then what'd he say?
A: (shrugs) I don't know.

Later, B spouts more Italian.

C: Did you understand him that time?
A: Yes
C: THen what'd he say?
A: Same as before.

Which convinces me that Samuel Beckett had nothing on Sid Fields as a writer of dialogue, and A&C should have starred in Waiting for Godot (which premiered the same year their show did).
