Tomahawk ~ Surprisingly Good!

Not a bad movie, actually....acting is a little over the top.
I think that, while it seems they're trying to be as accurate as possible, historically, it makes it somewhat dull to watch.
And after that Indian attack near the end, the movie just abruptly wraps it up and is over!
Van Heflin is not much in this one, but Yvonne De Carlo is stunning.
Rock Hudson has a minor role...looks kind of out of place, actually!
And again, Susan Cabot plays an Indian girl who says another 3 lines, or WORDS, in another of her 'acting?' roles, and collects another {probably small} salary. She's useless.
Good scenery, great/authentic Indians, dry plot, quick wrap.
I'd give this one a 4.5 of 10...it's a lot better than most of those early '50's westerns.

Van Heflin always had a commanding presence on big screen Western...he carried this on....but the character actors were quite adept and elegant.
\The Black Hills with brilliant sunshine.I did not move while viewing it and I was indeed a 6 year old little cowboy...What an era.
My only complaint?Alex Nicol!
