Burt Lancaster's torture scene

Remember when a sweaty, bare-chested Burt Lancaster is tied up inside the tent, about to have red-iron irons pressed into his flesh? Jody Lawrence comes along and manages to have him released, unharmed. Is there anyone else who was a bit disappointed that none of those red-hot irons reached its intended target?

reply

Apparently not!

I always wondered where your sig line came from. Then yesterday I saw Broadway Melody of 1936.

Hee hee. You could do worse.

(My favorite part, aside from the tenement rooftop dancing, is Eleanor Powell's Katharine Hepburn imitation. And also the guy dressed up in drag as the French cabaret singer. And also Buddy Ebsen's Gandhi joke. And Una Merkel.)

Janet! Donkeys!
