Who portrayed the little boy on the train?

Sheila Beers
The child actor who plays the son of Barbara Billingsley's character looks a lot like Billy Chapin. Can anyone confirm who the child actor is?

reply

I thought it was Kevin Tate, who played Mike in the 7 Faces of Dr Lao. According to IMDb Mr Tate was born in 1954, so there's no way he could have been in a movie from 1951.

Right after I posted the question, my husband pointed out the little boy was named "Winfield" in the movie and that the child actor's name was given in the credits. It was not Billy Chapin, for all that Billy would have been the right age for the part. I forget the name, but it is given in the credits.

Actually, the actor who played little "Winfield", Brad Morrow, was NOT listed in the credits in the film, as is indicated on the IMDb page which includes him among the uncredited actors in the film.

This seems strange because the boy had a fair amount of dialogue, appeared in a number of scenes, and his contribution to the plot was significant, if tangential. The role certainly had more significance to the plot than that of the other actors indicated as "uncredited".

I just looked up the cast list, and Brad Morrow portrayed Winfield. Morrow died at the age of 55 in 1997.
