This movie, although thought of as "minor", brings together Louis Armstrong and Mickey Rooney. It was nominated for an Oscar for the song "A Kiss to Build a Dream on".
It should be put on DVD.
Yes it should. It's a good little movie and has a lot of history in it. My dad owned a club exactly like the one in the film around the same time period - a Dixie joint where Barney Bigard and Jack Teagarden played all the time. In fact, this club may be the one, used in the film as a Strip location. I'd love more info on it. Too bad there is very little here.
