What's with the editing?

I've seen it twice on TV and the sequence with Cochran, Rogers and Day at the end has obvious cuts making it jumpy. I'm STILL not sure what Cochran says to Rogers to annoy her (the whole line is gone!). However the whipping at the end (which I find shocking) is complete! Anybody know what's going on here? Is there an uncut print available?
