Buddah bless you

I saw this movie as a kid and thought it was cool back then. All through it the salty Sgt. Zack tries to push the kid away but you can tell he's getting a lot of feelings for him like when he tells the kid to clear the stuff off the outside of the temple, he speaks very gently to him. I can see how he got mad enough to fill that commie full of lead for calling the kid stupid after he gets killed. I have to say I would have done the same if not worse. I remember seeing the movie and remember most the saying, Buddah bless you!

I too saw this movie in 1951. Suspected then, but didn't know until I was older that this picture is just pathetic propaganda. Not only that, the combat scenes are totally bogus as well. Waste of time.

Wow, eveybody on netflix say this is a great film with really gritty battle scenes. I guess I'll have to wait and see it myslef.

They made the movie on as low a budget as they could have, so they had to cut certain corners. It took them just ten days to film it, and filmed in a public park in the Santa Monica Mountains. All taken into consideration, Fuller did a hell of a job making this movie with almost no support. One of the most poignant war films I've ever seen.
