Thumbs up!!

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this film. It has an air of Cassablanca about it in that a lot of scenes are shot in a cafe and involve Bogie and a woman! I enjoyed the plot and I thought the acting from the supporting cast was very good. I'd recommend it.

It's no masterpiece, but I enjoyed this one, too. Just surprised there's so little on the message board about it.

I agree with 7/10 rating. There could've been something more to this film, however, if you're a Bogart fan and love B&W atmospheric film, it's very worthwhile. I enjoyed when the dame tells Bogie he's ugly, and wonders how someone so ugly can be so handsome. Even with all his flaws, he's one cool cat.

I enjoy it very much I even bought the DVD. I am watching it after seeing once again Casablanca and the influence is obvious in customes, furniture, streets. The character is real. I think it's less cliché and represents pretty well the attitude of both, the foreign power and Muslim leaders besides the gun and ammunition smugglers, all wars created by them who profit like vultures with no morals. We see betrayal of close friends. Very well acted.
