Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses? Are there no big walls? Too many spirits are getting in here. We'll send the bad spirits back, and let the good ones stay.

SCROOGE---MAKE CHRISTMAS GREAT AGAIN

reply

Nope, it's part of the human condition to be arrogant and have hubris...unless any of them are visited by actual ghosts...

Since there's the whole "camel through the eye of the needle" thing, I must assume they're all roasting in hell.

I'm not a billionaire by any means, but I've always kind of identified with Scrooge. Mainly because I tend to (happily) stay to myself mostly, and just have a few close friends. Most of my family are quite a bit older than I am. I always have believed that very few people would show up to my funeral, so I relate to Scrooge in that way.

I guess the lesson I should learn is to be more friendly, and charitable. But I'll confess I haven't really learned it.

What Scrooge experienced seems tantamount to a Near Death Experience, and people who have undergone that sometimes do indeed change their selfish, bullying ways.

But that's what it takes for most people to get out of their ego-based issues: physical death, and then coming back to earth.

So it ain't easy, apparently.

I can think of one.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Yeah, I seriously doubt "The Donald" would change his ways after just one night living among poor people.
