I noticed him when Henry joins the column of wounded men heading for the rear. He is the shell shocked soldier who is singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic. It starts with a closeup of him singing "Glory Glory Hallelujah!"
I thought he looked just like Jim Nabors, who later played Gomer Pyle.
I can see why you'd think of that; the singer does look a bit like him. He would have been about the right age at the time, too. I can't tell for sure, but, I don't think it's Jim Nabors,
shareI never thought it was Jim Nabors, I just thought the actor looked like him. Jim Nabors' first acting credit wasn't until 1961, 10 years after this version of The Red Badge of Courage was made.
