location shot

At the beginning of the movie is a brief shot looking up a hill toward a night time city. It's the same shot used at the beginning of Asphalt Jungle. Anybody recognize the scene? The location is, as is often the case, deliberately ambiguous. There is one shot which is clearly the upper east side of NY but no other shots look at all like NY.
