some confusion
Perhaps someone can help me. I turned the movie on this am and saw most of it.
They went to Calico to have the baby so there would be no record of the birth. Then what was the plan? They weren't going to stay in Calico.

It's been a a little while since I saw the movie but I don't recall a plan. Susan had collected the insurance money so they could 'lay low' for a while. After that I think they intended to go back to town so Webb could resume his job and they could pretend nothing was out of the ordinary. Webb seemed to think they would be recognized wherever they went so their original town would be as good as any.
Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
Thank you. That does clear it up.The film kind of fell apart when they went off to the ghost town.
shareI noticed that the clerk said they would be back in two weeks. Earlier they had spoken of adopting a child but there were problems with associating with anyone. The plan, I believe, was for her to have the child, then go home and say they had found or adopted the baby. It would be doubtful that anyone would question it.
It was easy to build an identity back then. I suspect that's how they would have handled it.
