The best Don Camillo movie

I think it's the best Don Camillo movie. We discover the little italian village and his inhabitants with moving, and the fighting between Don Camillo and Peppone is very funny. I can't see this movie without nostalgy. The plot is dated, but the movie continue to be interesting, in spite of the Cold War is over now.

Agree :)

Too bad that Italy (in which i was born and live) is no more the country portrayed in this movie...Now "il bel paese" is like a rotten dump, mostly due to the italians themselves >:(

What a pity! Italy was a so beautiful country! I loved to visit it!

A pitty if that is true.

There is on one French DVD "collector's" set a small bonus about Brescello today, they interview people from the small town.

What is most striking is that Italy is so old today, they are so few children, while people are richer than they used to be. Less Church going people, more comfort, more old people, less youth, more immigrants, less sense of the "small country" (le pays/il paese), less sense of Northern Italy. I'm waxing very nostalgic.
