Same Father in 'Meet Me in St. Louis'

It was refreshing to see actor Leon Ames as a turn on the century father in both this film and "Meet Me in St. Louis", though they took place 11 years apart(1903 vs. 1914).

It was nice to see him less exasperated with his son and daughter (Billy Gray and Doris Day) than in the other film with that psychotic little youngest daughter obsessed with death, along with his other whiny, selfish daughters.

Yes, I enjoyed seeing him in this film! I've been a huge fan of Meet Me in St. Louis since I was about 4 or 5 (I'm 19 now). I always laugh at most of the things he says in both movies. He's very serious and strict, but there's something humorous about him. At least to me! Glad to see another Leon Ames fan out there.
