mistake

I don't know if this has been posted on "By the Light of the Silvery Moon," board.

Anyway, there is a mistake in the sequel at the end of 'On Moonlight Bay,' Alice tells George the story about how they got engaged in the forest.

While in 'By the Light of the Silvery Moon,' Alice tells Marjorie that they became engaged at the ice ring and he was taking off her shoes and proposed.

I noticed that too, but then it was a different director who took over the movie. But I still feel that they should've tightened it up a bit and made sure that no loopholes would come of the sequel. They are great movies though.

Well, also, back then they didn't think of the fact that someday, there would be videos and people could watch and rewatch these movies in the comfort of their own home; once a movie was out of the theatre, it was gone. So they probably either didn't consult the original film, or they decided it would make a good story and didn't think people would notice.

Different writers but wouldn't they have had access to the earlier script?

I am just guessing....In retrospect the studio and perhaps others may have felt that the story of "getting engaged in the forest" may have had too sexy conotations. Those two young people could have done very, very naughty things on the moss-covered ground of that forest. Whereas, I'd like to see anyone do same naughties on an ice rink!
