A good family movie

This is a very good movie that the entire family can enjoy. It was made in 1952 before Rock Hudson and Piper Laurie made it big but it is a good chance to see them when they were young. But the stars who really steal the show are Charles Coburn as the older secretly wealthy visitor and the youngest daughter played by Gigi Perreau. These two stars had great chemistry between them and are the real stars of this good movie. I highly recomend it. Even though it was made in 1952 the setting is in a small Vermont town of about 1927. It is available as a dvd rental from netflix. Enjoy!

Although not named in the schedule online, it followed the 1961 Hudson movie Come September on Cozi TV. I'm amazed at how little Hudson changed in appearance in nine years.

I'm not a huge Hudson fan but I do enjoy a good Coburn flick. :) I just wish the younger daughter didn't have such a screamingly 1952 hairstyle. It doesn't fit at all.
